You’ve done it again. It’s the night before Father’s Day and you have no idea what you’re going to purchase for your dad, step dad, grandfather or husband. Don’t worry; it happens to the best of us. Now that you’ve remembered we don’t have time lamenting on why we waited until the last minute. We need to take action and quick-ly!

I know what you’re thinking, “I can’t shop online because it won’t be here in time.” Well, that’s true, but you can get a little creative. Here’s what I mean: If you decide you want to get the dad in your life something from an online retailer then purchase it, copy a picture of it to your favorite word processing program to make a fancy flier that says, “Soon you’ll be the proud owner of… ” Print it out then run to your local card shop or Walmart store to purchase a meaningful and special card. Fold your flier, put it into your card and get ready to present it with a smile and a hug. The fact that the gift isn’t present will be trumped by the anticipation of what they’re going to get.

Now, if you’re going to purchase something tonight then you better hit up Best Buy deals. They have a great sale on their TVs (5 to 15 percent off select HDTVs). Call your local store and inquire if they’re having the same sale. If not, try to maneuver a deal: “If I bring cash, can I get it for XYZ amount tonight?” There’s nothing like enticing a commission-making sales person into a little extra dough at the last minute.
