Budgeting for dream weddings

The other day I was visiting a woman’s blog and she had a post up for Wordless Wednesday that was simply titled: “One day…” The picture was of a woman wearing a beautiful white wedding gown. I can’t even begin to describe it. That picture evoked a lot of feelings. It made me smile as I remember when I used to think “one day.” It made me worry that the young lady’s “one day” wouldn’t come as soon as she liked. Then it made me have something to look forward to because I have three daughters and my oldest, who is 19, could very well have her “one day” really soon.

Almost every little girl dreams of walking down the wedding aisle in front of her most loved friends and family to meet her Prince Charming and be united in holy matrimony. It’s a beautiful fairytale that often comes to a somewhat screeching halt when the costs of said fairytale gown and wedding are tabulated. But it’s possible to have as close to a dream wedding as one can get by planning in advance, determining a budget and shopping for deals.

Right now American Bridal has a special clearance of 50 percent off certain items. First money-saving tip for wedding planning: Shop off-season and clearance sections.

Concerning the gown, brides can find extremely elaborate or simply elegant dresses at way less than the thousands that a lot of women pay. Romantic Gowns stocks some reasonably priced and stunning gowns including the one pictured here that is listed at $319. It’s regular price is $1,019.99.

Second money-saving tip: Shop at “non-traditional” stores for your gown.

With a little forethought and planning, every woman can have their dream wedding.
