Hail to the graduate
I can’t believe how many children are graduating who I remember as babies or before all their adult teeth came in. I’ve seen the announcements for graduations on my friends’ blogs and Facebook pages, and I’m more and more amazed each day.
A friend of mine who I met in 1996 has a son graduating from high school this year and his graduation pool party is on Saturday. It’s a little weird looking at his graduation invitations posted on his mom’s social networking page because I remember when he sucked his thumb and walked around my house in a diaper and t-shirt. I remember my daughter, who’s about three years older than him, letting him lay his little head on her lap after he got into trouble. That sweet little boy who I thought of as my nephew is a young adult on his way to starting his adult life. Amazing.
